Dear Tennyson Society Member
I am pleased to confirm that the Tennyson Society’s annual wreath laying ceremony will take place at Poets’ Corner, Westminster Abbey, on Saturday 12 October 2024 at 12 noon.
Following the recent sad death of the Society’s President, Lord Cormack, the proposed visit to the House of Lords to commemorate the 140th anniversary of Tennyson taking his seat in the Lords cannot now take place. I will therefore reserve a table in the Abbey’s restaurant, the Cellarium Café and Terrace, for members wishing to stay on for lunch after the wreath laying and a copy of the current menu is attached. The menu may change in early October and can be checked by clicking on www.westminster-abbey.org/visit-us/food-drink and looking at the Regular Menu option.
Please let me know by 14 September if you intend to come to the ceremony and are able to stay on for lunch afterwards.
