Our Annual Weekend Conference will take place in Hastings, East Sussex, from 19 – 22 May. We will be based at the Royal Victoria Hotel on the seafront, where the young Princess Victoria stayed (her signature is in the Visitors’ Book), and will visit the cliffs where Arthur Hallam roamed, as well as Battle Abbey, where Tennyson researched his play Harold about the Battle of Hastings. As well as the usual series of talks, there will be the option of visits to Rudyard Kipling’s home, Batemans, and Virginia Woolf’s home, Monk’s House.
